Thinking Cool Thoughts
Since it has been so unbearably hot lately, and there is no relief in sight. I thought I would post pictures of a time when we were wishing it was warmer.

With recent events, (getting engaged), I now need to go through my things and decide what to keep and what needs to go. Plus it is so ungodly hot out, that doing anything outdoors is just insane. So, last Friday I decided to sort through all the things in the footlocker I had when I was in college. I keep many “important” things in this chest. Naturally, Lilly wanted to double check my work.
She is such a good helper.
A lot of the things that I got rid of were old letters from friends. This one caught my eye though. A good friend mailed me a letter covered with one cent stamps….pretty funny.
I was wondering if I was going to have a post for today. I didn’t have any good ideas and no pictures to share. Then this display of love and affection unfolded. Lilly just adores Petey, and Petey will get snuggles wherever he can.
While we were on vacation in Oregon we visited a place called Gary West Meats. They specialize in smoked meats and jerky. To our dogs delight we bought him some “doggie” jerky. It is jerky batches that didn’t quite come out right, but who says it isn’t good enough for the hounds in your life.
Petey gets so excited when he sees us get it out of the fridge that he can hardly contain himself. Here he is watching Glen’s every move, (like Glens Star Wars pajama pants? :o) )
He has to sit to get his treat. We also mostly toss it at him cause the treats are so fantastically good he might gobble up your fingers too.
This is a weed that has grown in a flower pot that is sitting and being neglected on my back deck….and it bloomed.
Yesterday, Glen was an usher in his neighbors son’s wedding. It was the first time Glen had worn a tuxedo. He looked good in it :-)Here is a nice picture that he took himself while he was getting ready.
I took this one after the ceremony was over. He looks good in a tux!
However, this one is my favorite! To be completely nerdy and quote ZZ Top…. every girl’s crazy ’bout a sharp dressed man!!
June is just a busy month what with Fathers Day and birthdays all occurring in one week. So I asked one of my coworkers, who just happens to make the best cakes ever, if she would make a cake for me. She really did a wonderful job. So the cake encompassed Mothers Day, Fathers Day, my step-dad’s birthday and my Mom’s birthday. It was funny because my mom told me I shouldn’t be spending money on them, they don’t need anything. Then when she took a bite of the cake she told me I didn’t pay Angelina enough money…..the cake was soooo freaking good!
The cake had alternating layers of chocolate and vanilla cake with strawberry butter cream frosting between the layers……may have to drive over to Mom and Larry’s so I can eat another slice of heaven.
Last night Glen and I went out to dinner with my folks. We went to Pizza Hut. It was actually pretty good. Hadn’t been to that particular establishment in a long time. They have improved their pizza’s, they are no longer greasy and yucky. After dinner, we went over to my parents house with Glen’s laptop so they could see all of our vacation pictures. Their dog Bentley had to be involved too.
My mom showing Bentley how the mouse works.
Bentley seeing if he has the hang of it by himself.
Yep, definitely have the hang of it and thoroughly enjoying the pictures.
