The good smells of country life
Petey and I went out to Glens house last Sunday. Petey is always completely overwhelmed by all the different wonderful smells so you can’t really walk him anywhere….you have to drag him along.

Sunday, Lilly decided the best place to nap all day was in Petey’s kennel. Luckily for her, Petey doesn’t mind sharing.
I went to an auction this last Saturday. It was really kind of stupid to go because it was so freaking hot. Thankfully it was out in the country and there was a ton of trees providing shade….and they had set up huge fans that I parked myself in front of. Anyway, this auction was an entire household of stuff, and I went because they had a six piece king size bedroom set that I wanted to check out. As I was walking around looking at all the stuff I came across something that was, at least to me, a horrible piece of decor. So naturally I took a picture of it. You may be asking yourself how I could pass this gem up.
Yes…..it is a stuffed coyote in full snarl/running stance. My first thought was where in the hell do you put something like that? Then I thought was how does one clean something like this? Who is going to purchase this??? I left after they sold the bedroom set….it went for way more than I was willing to pay and it was way too hot to sit and wait to see who bought this monstrosity. Somewhere, someone is enjoying their new stuffed toy.
It has been so terribly hot and dry this last month. When you walk through the yard the grass is actually crunchy. However, these beautiful little native flowers can live and thrive through such adversity.
I just finished up a seven day stretch of overnight shifts. It has been a long week and I am glad it is my weekend. Here is a picture of Lilly demonstrating most of my plans for this weekend.
Yep, this will be just like me…..laying around and yawning because I have to switch back to day shift for one week.
