Changing up the dog food

Made the decision this week to change Petey’s food.  He has been eating Natures Select brand.  It is a good dog food and they deliver to your home as part of the cost of the food.  However, Petey is no stranger to an upset tummy.  So, I decided to try Natura Pet brand food after reading about it in one of the blogs I follow, (www.pawcurious.com).  It has no artificial ingredients and is hypoallergenic.  I bought Innova senior dog food and began mixing it with his old food yesterday.

Spices are fascinating

Last night as Glen and I were cooking supper, I asked him to grab me some spices out of the spice cabinet.  He wasn’t alone in his endeavor.  Eva was totally fascinated!!

Invisible fencing

Last weekend we started training Petey with the invisible fencing at Glens house.  Glen put the collar on Petey and walked him around the perimeter to train Petey where his boundaries were and also so Glen could adjust the collar to the appropriate level.

The collar softly beeps when the dog is at the boundary before it shocks.  Naturally, Petey learned the hard way about the beeps.  The second time he heard it he immediately turned and ran back for the house. 

Reprieve from the heat

Since it is cooler outside, I let Lilly do something that she begs for daily.  I let her sit in the bathroom window and enjoy the sights and smells of the great outdoors.

About a month ago I downloaded the Instagram app on my cell phone.  It is an app that lets you alter the pictures you take on your cell phone and then share them on facebook, twitter, etc.  It’s fun and it’s free.

This is a picture I took last spring in Kansas City while wandering around outside the Nelson Atkins Museum.  I used the instagram app to tweak the picture a bit….
