We finally got grass seed put down in our front yard after having it torn up from the work done to the house. Glen has been diligently watering and the grass has been growing at breakneck speed.
Well, maybe not….but it is the bane of Lilly’s existence. She wants to attack it and eat it but she can’t get to it.
Last night as Lucy walked past me I saw something alarming. One of her back legs was discolored. Upon closer inspection I noticed her fur was purple. She apparently has been eating a LOT of mulberries. Later on after Glen got home we both noticed that her face is also streaked with purple. Those mulberries must be so good she has to roll in them,
Lucy: Nom nom nom nom nom
Lucy: Come on Petey, this dirt is awesome!
Petey: I don’t want to get all dirty. I will just stick the tips of my toes in.
While Glen was busy working on our future garden, I was jacking around taking pictures of him and whatever else caught my eye. I was also busy accumulating chigger bites.
We weren’t able to get an area tilled and ready this year for a garden. However, next year will be a different story. The neighbors brought their tractor over to disc the soil so we could then use the tiller.
It is going to be a nice big garden!
Our soil isn’t the best, so our neighbors graciously let us have horse manure.
Glen hard at work spreading horse poo.
Glen then tilled the poo into the soil. There is still a lot of work to be done to get the area ready for next year…and of course we have to decide what all we want to grow. Can’t wait!
I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday on a mission to get silk flowers so I can finish some of the wedding party decorations. The problem was I had my mother with me and she insisted on wandering around the store. I usually don’t cave to buying impulse items…..but it was 66% off, and I had fallen in love with it.
Like Mother Teresa, only better.
