Best in Camo

I was just walking through the yard and spotted this spider.  I wouldn’t have seen it if it hadn’t moved.  It is very well camouflaged!

Who Doesn’t Love a Nice Warm Bath?

Not only are Glen and I getting ready to get hitched this weekend, we are also getting ready for our vacation/honeymoon.  Part of that preparation is making the dogs into presentable critters for the kind friends that will be keeping them for us while we are gone.  I don’t know why Petey and Lucy dislike baths so much….they are in nice warm water and getting a full body massage.  What’s not to like?

Petey just looked like we were shaming him the entire time.  He was a good boy about it though.

Image

Lucy: If I don’t make eye contact with them maybe I won’t be forced to take a bath.

Image

Lucy: How can this be happening to me?

Image

Lucy: How can you sit there taking my picture when I am being tortured?

Image

Lucy:  You will pay dearly for this….

This last picture was when Lucy bolted from the bathtub in her desperate escape attempt.  She was mostly successful, but ended up back in the tub for her rinse cycle.  No more pictures were taken because she got water and soap all over my camera lens and I had a minor internal meltdown.

It’s Dove Season

Sunday morning dove season opened.  Glen got up bright and early only to be rained out by a pop up thunderstorm.  Glen and the neighbor decided to try their luck again that evening with much better results.  Yesterday we had dove for supper.  I had never eaten dove before, and found it to be quite tasty.  Glen seasoned them up three different ways.  He created an oriental marinade, habanero rub and Tastefully Simple Tuscan Herb.  I tried the habanero and it was way too freaking hot for me.  The Tuscan Herb was my favorite.  We also grilled fresh corn on the cob.  It tasted good, but holy cow it was chewy and stuck to all of my teeth.

She Likes Slow Dancing

Eva doesn’t usually dance. However, here she is dancing nice and slow to a fast paced Tom Petty song.

An Unusual Sight

While at work yesterday evening I was treated to an unusual sight.  I just happened to look up and see this hot air balloon drifting by.  All of us took turns going out to take a look at it.  Fun, interesting and pretty things aren’t what we usually see while at work….especially since our building sits on a horrible accident prone intersection.

A Thorny Issue

Some of the trees in our yard are well armed.

Spider in the Hole

Glen took a nice picture of a wolf spider web.  Not sure where the spider was.  I find it very interesting that their webs are funnel shaped.  Not interesting enough to get close enough to take a picture.  That’s why Glen had to take it.

A View From the Driveway

I was out in the yard with the hound dogs and heard a horse whinny.  So I went into the house and grabbed the camera, walked down to the end of our driveway and saw this beauty.  It is one of our neighbors.

Bathing Birdies

After being away for a week in Jefferson City I am happy to be back and posting.  The weekend was spent making up for lost sleep.  Man I missed my bed!  Glen always gets up before I do and shot these pictures.  Some robins were having a grand time in the bird bath….at least until Lilla screamed and scared them all off.
