Road Trip
Yesterday Glen and I went on a little road trip to Weston, Mo. It is a fun/quaint little town. The first thing we did was eat. Glen did a little research and decided we needed to eat Here. We both ordered the O’Malley sandwich…. “Signature sandwich slathered with Corned Beef, Swiss Cheese and Marinated Slaw on grilled Marble Rye Bread with Spicy Brown Mustard, offered with a mound of Pub Fries“. It was abso-freaking-lutely fantastic! Naturally since we were at a brewery we had to try out their beer. Glen opted for the O’Malley stout and I had the 1842 Porter. Both were quite tasty! Afterwards, we waddled our way to the Pirtle Winery, (check it out here). We tasted a few wines, the best being a Traminette. They also have fantastic meads. The rest of the afternoon consisted of walking up and down Main Street checking out the many little shops in town.
One of the stores we went in was a home interior/taxidermy store. Glen really liked this squirrel.
On our way home, we went to the Weston Bend State Park. It is a gorgeous park with walking trails.
Walking along the trail we found large fungus growing on a rotted log.
Lookout point….wish the trees were further along in changing colors. Still a great view!
