We had really crappy weather yesterday. It was cloudy and drizzled rain all day. Made for a fantastic sunset though.

Woody Woodpecker
Glen got a great picture of a pileated woodpecker while he was out sitting in his deerstand. They are a fantastic looking bird. Interesting tidbit, the cartoon character Woody Woodpecker was modeled after the pileated woodpecker.
You got red on you
This post’s title suggests that it may have something to do with the movie Shaun of the Dead…..but it doesn’t. Just a pretty cardinal sitting in an evergreen tree.
Very Cold Sunset
Saturday was opening day of deer season. While Glen was out sitting in his deer stand, he took a few pictures of the sunset.
Changing Colors
Within the span of just a few minutes the colors of the rising sun change drastically.
Chewed Tree
Evidence that beavers have been in the area.
It was exciting seeing that beavers have been thriving at Knob Noster State Park, but I would have been beyond excited to actually see a beaver in the wild.
Wasps Nest
When we were out hiking at Knob Noster State Park we came across an old wasp nest laying on the ground. This is a paper wasp nest, which is characterized by open combs for brood rearing.
Deer Tracks
Found this perfect deer track in the mud. It is the print of a doe. We looked all over to see if we could find those of a buck for comparison. No luck.
