You got red on you
This post’s title suggests that it may have something to do with the movie Shaun of the Dead…..but it doesn’t. Just a pretty cardinal sitting in an evergreen tree.

Saturday was opening day of deer season. While Glen was out sitting in his deer stand, he took a few pictures of the sunset.
This is one of the many birds that visited during the snow and extreme cold weather. This is a Brown Thrasher, which is in the same family as Mockingbirds.
Here are some more pictures that Glen was able to get. That same elusive red bellied woodpecker posed nicely for him.
Since we got a bunch of snow and the temperatures are beyond cold, we have had a bunch of ravenous blue jays in our front yard. They are on the constant hunt for acorns.
The search….
You’re all mine now acorn….

Do I have snow on my beak?
All Lucy really thinks about is going outside to bark at anything that moves. However, it has been so cold out she doesn’t venture far from the front door.
Lucy: I don’t see anything to the left of the property.
Lucy: Nope, nothing to the right.
Lucy: Hey, I’ve changed my mind…..let me back in!
We got our first snow of the season. What you see is about all we got, thankfully. The worst part of this is how freaking cold it was.
Needless to say Petey snuggled with me under a nice warm blanket.
Lilly had to settle for Glens lap after Petey forced her out from under the nice warm blanket.
Lucy never wants blankets….just pillows.
