Lola

Our foster dog, Wayne, didn’t work out here and had to be moved to a different foster home.  In his place we got Lola.  She is a shephard/lab mix and is about four years old.  She is a very sweet girl, except she doesn’t really care for the company of other dogs.  She tolerates our two hounds, but everyday there is some growling going on.

Lola loves a good belly rub.

She is such a pretty girl and hopefully someone will see her face and just fall in love.

It didn’t take her long to find “doggie TV”…ie: watching squirrels out the front window.

I defy you and your couch cover

I bought a couch cover in an attempt to keep the pet hair off the sofa.  Sadie loves to get under it and run around like an idiot lovingly spreading cat hair everywhere.

This is Wayne

Our newest foster dog’s name is Wayne.  I’m not sure who comes up with these names, but Wayne is just a weird dog’s name.  The vet thinks he is about 10 years old and he has some health and mental issues.  His health issues I mentioned in a previous post.  As for the mental issues, he has separation anxiety.  I have had no experience with a dog that didn’t behave well when left alone.  However, Wayne is learning how to enjoy being an inside dog and accept love and affection.

I Can Help You With That

I am suffering from a nice bout of insomnia because I had to work a weeks worth of overnights.  So, to pass the time I decided to pick up my sewing project that had been hiding in the closet for a few years.  Sadie was very intrigued and supervised my work thoroughly.

Hiding in Plain Sight

We went to Glen’s mothers house yesterday evening and this fella was sitting on her front porch light.  Guess he was waiting for night to fall so he could partake in bugstravaganza.

Daddy Longlegs

Yesterday was just not a good day.  Our dog, James, got loose again and was missing for almost 5 hours.  Then while I was out looking for the dog, my cat, Sadie, managed to open the storm door and got loose.  She took off like the devil was after her when she saw me.  She still hasn’t reappeared.  Anyway….while I was out looking for the wayward dog I came across this fella.  It is a daddy longlegs spider, who was gracious enough to pose for me.

Our Newest Foster

I was contacted yesterday by The Animal Rescue Alliance, (T.A.R.A), in reference to them desperately needing someone to foster an elderly dog. We have fostered for them a couple of times in the past, and let’s just say, after reading this dogs story I immediately stepped up.  This old boy was found tied to a fence by Boulevard Brewery in Kansas City.  After trying to get animal control to pick up the dog…which obviously didn’t happen, a T.A.R.A volunteer took him in.

This dog just breaks my heart!  He is only about 40 pounds and has a severe ear and eye infection.  Thankfully he is heartworm negative!  I will probably be picking him up this evening.  He doesn’t have a name yet, so stay tuned for updates.

Leisurely Cat

Lily has been having some issues of late, and is now on some medication to help with her anxiety.  She has since decided the dog’s bed is hers.

A Note From Abroad
