Brown Thrasher
This is one of the many birds that visited during the snow and extreme cold weather. This is a Brown Thrasher, which is in the same family as Mockingbirds.

Our pretty, but vicious, Eclectus has been plucking her feathers. I have had her for eleven years and we have been struggling to figure out why she started plucking about two years ago.
Here she is having a bit out out time with Glen. We keep telling her that “naked” birdies get cold without their pretty feathers, but she won’t listen to us. On a good note, she has decided that Glen is now trustworthy and will step up for him. That is a HUGE milestone for her because she hates men.
Here are some more pictures that Glen was able to get. That same elusive red bellied woodpecker posed nicely for him.
I was on the evening shift during our latest snow/super cold event so I had mornings to sit and drink my coffee, (decaf 😦 ), and bird watch. There was a red bellied woodpecker that would show up everyday, and as soon as I would get the camera focused in, it would take off. I was never able to get its picture. Glen, on the other hand, snapped these…….this bird is totally not playing fair.
Since we got a bunch of snow and the temperatures are beyond cold, we have had a bunch of ravenous blue jays in our front yard. They are on the constant hunt for acorns.
The search….
You’re all mine now acorn….
nom nom nom nom…..
Do I have snow on my beak?
Eva is fascinated by the stubble on Glen’s face. If you let her, she will make every attempt to pull out the hairs….one at a time.
Cardinal: What are you doing?
Me: Taking your picture.
Cardinal: Oh ok, make sure to get my best side.
Glen and I enjoying a nice lazy day…..with Eva. She started out with Glen, hammering her beak onto his knee. Then she decided that being with me was a better idea.
