Some critter got run over in front of our driveway and the turkey vultures showed up to clean up the remains.
Being mindful that he doesn’t get run over.

Smoker
Glen and I have been wanting an electric smoker for a while now. We have just been cheapskates, not wanting to fork over the money for one. The odds were in our favor, because Glen went to an auction and got one for $30. Granted, it isn’t top of the line, and it had some wiring issues that Glen had to fix, but we got one on the cheap and it works 🙂 Glen smoked a couple of pork tenderloins and a pork loin roast. They turned out very yummy.
It was scarey
Since Glen and I decided to put in a garden this year, I made the leap and bought a pressure canner.
Last Monday evening my mom called me and said that my step-dad brought home a big box of green beans and wanted to know if I would can them for her. Of course I said I would. Tuesday evening came around and I found myself in my kitchen first looking at this very intimidating pan and then at the instructions on how to use it since I had never canned anything before.
As you can see, everything went as it should…..and I didn’t blow up my kitchen 🙂
