Assassin Bug

I found this interesting, yet ugly, fellow sitting on my Saint Francis statue.

See Through

Snapped this picture of a dragonfly.  I think their wings being partly transparent is amazing,

Monarch Butterfly

This gorgeous butterfly was flitting around our front yard yesterday.  Took me a while to get good pictures because it was so hot and humid my camera fogged up the second I took it outside.

Under Construction

Discovered the other night that we have some paper wasps building a nest above our front door.

Red Admiral

The pictures aren’t that great.  The butterfly was outside on the window and I was inside in the air conditioning :-/

This is one well camouflaged grasshopper.

Infested

There are so many cicadas this year…..it’s kind of creepy.  Not to mention they are making a LOT of noise.

Buzzing Around

While I am busy sleeping the day away and missing the beautiful spring weather, Glen took a video of busy bees for me.

Eastern Velvet Ant

This really isn’t an ant at all.  It’s a wingless wasp.

Spider in the Hole

Glen took a nice picture of a wolf spider web.  Not sure where the spider was.  I find it very interesting that their webs are funnel shaped.  Not interesting enough to get close enough to take a picture.  That’s why Glen had to take it.

A Note From Abroad

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sailaway from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” ~ Mark Twain
