Washed Out
Glen went out hiking with a friend and took some pictures of an unfortunate tree facing adversity. It was rooted into the dike of a pond, and as you can see, the pond washed out under the tree.

This is one of the many birds that visited during the snow and extreme cold weather. This is a Brown Thrasher, which is in the same family as Mockingbirds.
Here are some more pictures that Glen was able to get. That same elusive red bellied woodpecker posed nicely for him.
I was on the evening shift during our latest snow/super cold event so I had mornings to sit and drink my coffee, (decaf 😦 ), and bird watch. There was a red bellied woodpecker that would show up everyday, and as soon as I would get the camera focused in, it would take off. I was never able to get its picture. Glen, on the other hand, snapped these…….this bird is totally not playing fair.
Since we got a bunch of snow and the temperatures are beyond cold, we have had a bunch of ravenous blue jays in our front yard. They are on the constant hunt for acorns.
The search….
You’re all mine now acorn….
nom nom nom nom…..
Do I have snow on my beak?
Lucy: I love snow….it is awesome!
Petey: I am getting too old. It is just too cold out here.
Lilly: I love that all the little birdies are so much more active when it snows.
However, watching those birdies sure does wear a kitty out.
We got a bunch of snow here and discovered that Lucy has been a naughty girl.
We live in an earth contact house and discovered that Lucy has been on the roof. Nothing too exciting up there…except maybe a better view of her kingdom.
Like Mother Teresa, only better.
