New Visitor

The weather this last week ha been really nasty. As a result, the bird feeder was very, very busy. Of all of the birdies, we got a single red winged black bird that came to feed. Beautiful bird.

Gray Tufted Titmouse

This picture is somewhat blurry because this little bird is fast. How fast was it? It was so fast I didn’t think I got its picture taken. It was a very cold day and it was a frenzy of activity at the bird feeder.

This poor, innocent squirrel was snacking on acorns when it heard our umbrella cockatoo scream from inside the house.

Turkey Trespassers

We had a nice group of turkey hens traipse through our yard. James, our ever faithful foster dog, alerted Glen to the dangers 🙂

Eluding me no more

This is the red bellied woodpecker that has been eluding me. I was finally able to sneak up and get a few pictures before it flew off. It really has been enjoying the suet we put out. Good fuel on a very cold day.

Another Sunrise

I captured this on my way home from work Friday morning at around 7am. It is a bit blurry, but it isn’t easy driving fast and taking a picture with your cell phone.

My View

I am working the overnight shift this week. On my drive home this morning, I had quite the beautiful view.

New Bird Feeder

Glen and I bought a new bird feeder not too long ago. We can put both seed and suet in it, which is kind of handy. We haven’t had a lot of bird traffic yet. Yesterday our cat Lilly alerted me to a gorgeous little downy woodpecker. I got the camera, got it focused perfectly….

And it flew off the second before I took the picture. My next attempt was not much better. It’s like the birds are taunting me.

You can’t tell from the picture, but it was a female cardinal. She has a nice tail :-/
