The weather has been getting colder so the squirrels have been extra busy trying to find food. They take advantage and stock up on acorns while the dogs are in the house.

Lola and James were watching them very closely.
Last Saturday was the opening weekend of rifle deer season. My husband goes every year and thankfully filled his two tags on the first day. However, while waiting for the deer to make their appearance he took a couple of pictures.
Yesterday Lucy was trying to climb a tree, so we knew she had chased something up there. Glen and I went out to check it out, figuring it would be a squirrel. Much to our surprise it was a groundhog.
I had no idea they could climb trees!
This post really isn’t for the faint of heart. I will just say up front…..the mouse didn’t make it. This all happened while I was at work and Glen was home with the “kids”. He said he heard a squeak, went to investigate and found this…..
Out little chubby kitty had caught herself a mouse. However, being a cat, she likes to play with her prey and did the typical catch and release so she could chase it some more. The only bad thing with this is, the mouse always out maneuvers her and manages to get away. So Glen, being a good team coach, took Lilly out of the game and put Lucy in.
Lucy caught the mouse and refused to let it go, so Glen let her outside with it. Bye, bye mouse.
